This page contains the results of the experiment and pictures of both the locations and the bacteria. There was different bacteria in all of the sources. Some of the bacteria looked similar or the exact same. The water sources that had more trash and people around it had more bacteria in it. The water sources we found that had the most bacteria were the Scioto River and Hoover Dam. The water sources with the next largest amount of bacteria were the Big Darby Creek and the Little Darby Creek. The water that had the least amount of bacteria was the Spring Run.
Scioto River
The Scioto River was full of trash. There was trash on the banks and floating around inside of the river. The water was very yellow and was the most discolored of all the collected water samples. Many different bacteria were found in the water. On the left there are pictures of the water and the banks as well as some of the bacteria found inside the water. In one of the pictures that was not included on the website (it was deleted) there was a small worm like insect.

Big Darby Creek
The Big Darby Creek was very clean compared to the Scioto River. The water was very clear and only had two or three specks visible to the eye floating in it. To the left pictures of the creek can be seen and show how clean and clear the water was. There are also pictures of bacteria found in the sample. The bacteria looked very different than the bacteria in the Scioto River.

Little Darby Creek
The Little Darby Creek looked very similar to the Big Darby Creek. The water was very clear and few specks could be seen floating in the water. There was few pieces of trash on the banks and no trash visible in the water. The bacteria on the left looks similar to the bacteria in the Big Darby Creek. The pictures on the left also show how clear the water and banks are.

Spring Run
The Spring Run water was clear and had some algae and dirt floating in it. There was no trash around or in the water. The bacteria was very similar to the Little Darby Creek and the Big Darby Creek. The pictures on the left show how clear and clean the water was. The bacteria looked similar to the Little Darby Creek water.

Hoover Dam
Hoover Dam water was very cloudy. The water had lots of specks floating around in it. It was a more yellow color than the Big Darby Creek, Little Darby Creek, and Spring Run water. The water was not as yellow as the Scioto River though. There was trash in both the water and on the shore. The pictures on the left show of cloudy the water was and the types of bacteria there was. The bacteria looked different from all of the other water sources. The bacteria was most similar to the Scioto River. The bacteria in the top right was the same kind as the middle bottom of the Scioto River.
